In-Home Postpartum Doula Care

While the primary care I provide will be during the beginning weeks of postpartum, we will also spend some time together before your official transition into motherhood. The time we spend together before birth is our time to begin weaving your blanket of care. We will build TRUST, set intentions, listen, and prepare for the transformational time ahead. I will listen to what it is you need and together we will explore how I can best support you. Some of the things we may discuss during these visits include:

  • The pillars of postpartum

  • Establishing your community and village of care

  • The role of family, friends and visitors

  • Appropriate food for the PP time

  • How to set healthy boundaries

  • Matrescence and your new brain

  • The placenta

  • Hormones

  • Rites of passage and ceremony

  • Sleep

  • Songs for mother and baby

After your birth, I will be visiting your home to provide loving care and support. This will look different for each visit as your needs will change daily. However each visit may look, the intention is to support you so you can REST, REJUVENATE, HEAL and be NOURISHED.

These visits after birth may include:

  • Preparing and serving postpartum appropriate foods/meals

  • Massage and touch

  • Herbal baths and steaming

  • Meditation and breath work

  • Closing of the bones and/or belly binding

  • Help with light domestic duties

  • Sincere listening and holding space to allow for integration

  • Text, voice note and email support throughout our time together

“In the first forty days after delivery it can seem that all the world wants to come and hold your baby. But to fully inhabit your new role as a mother - with its astonishing requirements for giving energy, attention and love - it is you who must be held.”
